Ubisoft pulls I Am Alive away from Darkworks

 Posted by renxue on 10:39

Darkworks, the French-based game developer who made the survival horror title Cold Fear for Ubisoft a few years ago, had been working on some time on the still mysterious disaster-action game I Am Alive. Now it appears that things are a-changin. While the game is still being made, Ubisoft has pulled Darkworks off the title. A post on the Darkworks web site has the complete Ubisoft statement without any other comment: Here is is in full: In order to respect the new launch date for this ambitious title, and Darkworks having other obligations, we have mutually decided to complete development of I Am Alive at Ubisoft Shanghai, as the two studios have collaborated on aspects of the title over the past year.

Hunter Tips

 Posted by renxue on 10:39

Hunters track, tame, and slay all manner of animals and beasts found in the wild. Whether they rely on bows or firearms, Hunters consider their weapons and pets to be their only true friends. Hunters are great for pulling monsters as they are able to set traps that hinder monsters that the Hunters pull to attack. Hunters are also able to use various beast-related special abilities, take on bestial traits that allow them to do things that they could not do normally, use a wide variety of ranged attacks supplemented by a few melee abilities, and the ability to control and tame beasts.

Honor value got

 Posted by renxue on 10:39

If a player does not take damage for one minute since the last time they were attacked in PvP, any damage done by the first player is null and void. After one minute has expired, the next player or group who finds and kills the target gets the full credit. There is no additional honor reward for going on killing sprees, other than the normal honor earned for doing so. This is not a current feature of the Honor System, but is a possible candidate for continued refinement.

Street Fighter movie roughed up by reviewers

 Posted by renxue on 10:39

For the first time since Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia (in his final role) duked it out in 1994, a Street Fighter film is premiering across the US. News Corporation subsidiary 20th Century Fox is opening Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li in more than 1,100 theaters today. The studio is hoping the film's roots in Capcom's video game series and the recent launch of Street Fighter IV will attract young males, with young females all but guaranteed to flock to Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. Unfortunately for Fox, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li won't be riding a wave of hosannas from critics to box office glory. The first reviews of the film have hit Metacritic, and they range from tepid antipathy to venomous scorn. The least negative summary so far is from Variety's Rob Nelson, who calls it "neither the best nor the worst of movies derived from videogames...at least [it] gives action fans plenty to ogle besides the titular heroine."

Blizzard vs. MDY

 Posted by renxue on 10:39

After a couple of Karazhan runs, nobody needs loot from heroics any more, and the few badges aren't worth the time. And if you can't get your guild to run you through Karazhan, PvP is now a better option than heroics, because PvP rewards improved and heroics rewards didn't. Added to that is the problem of organization. World of Warcraft doesn't offer a guild very many tools to work with. Guilds need to find their own forums, their own event calendar applications, their own DKP or reward systems, and organize everything outside the game. Finding a guild group would be a lot easier if there was a LFGG functionality or an in-game guild event calendar for planification of raids and 5-man groups.

Top Age of Conan Players Help Others in Leveling

 Posted by renxue on 10:39

The first day Age of Conan officially goes live, marks the start of the power leveling race to level 80. Both MMORPG newbies and hard-core veterans start from equal grounds regardless of their prior experience. Traditionally, this leveling route varies depending on each player's preference. There are two schools of thoughts; one is based on grinding monsters and another favors questing. Each method presents different advantages and disadvantages.
